How to hire 100+ blue-collar workers in 30 days: a practical playbook

15 Sept 2026, 5 min read

Hiring 100 or more people for production, warehouse or facility roles in a month is a different job from hiring one senior engineer. The roles are similar, the timelines are tight, and every delay shows up on the shop floor. The teams that manage it treat it as one pipeline, not a hundred searches.

Start with a sharp brief

Before any sourcing begins, write down the number of roles, the shift pattern, the location, the pay range, the must-have skills and the joining date. Vague briefs create slow shortlists. A one-page brief that hiring managers have signed off saves days of rework.

Source in parallel, not in sequence

Waiting for one channel to run dry before opening the next costs time you don’t have. Run your candidate database, job boards, social platforms and local field networks at the same time. Field recruitment matters most for skilled trades and shift roles, where candidates rarely look online.

Screen early and screen at scale

A short screening call on availability, location, shift comfort, notice period and expected pay removes most mismatches before anyone travels to an interview. Use tools to filter volume, but keep a person on the final call.

Interview in batches

Bulk interview drives, physical or virtual, let you assess many candidates in a single day, with the hiring manager in the room. Book the venue and the panel early, and confirm attendance the day before.

Plan compliance and onboarding from day one

Background verification, statutory paperwork and safety induction are where large hiring drives quietly slip. Start documents as soon as an offer is accepted, and keep a joining checklist for every hire.

Track the funnel every day

Watch how many candidates are sourced, screened, interviewed, offered and joined. A drop at any stage tells you where to add effort. If you need 100 joiners, plan for more offers than that, because some candidates will not turn up.
